Whisker Woods getting into the Tournament Swing!

At long last, the developers have starting hosting tournaments in Whisker Woods! Thank goodness, because I was really starting to worry about these thousands of gnarled cheese and potions I had collected over the years!

Our team is participating in the 8 hour tournament that starts in 20 minutes...wish us luck!

Welcome to The Total Mousehunt FAQ!

Hello!

Sure, I've been here for a week already, and I have a welcome blog entry to the left (the one on the bottom), but I've recently had my FAQ added to the Mousehunt Timers Spreadsheet, so I figured some of you might be coming here and saying "Hey, where are all the pages?!?!?"

Your friendly MH Tour Guide!

Look up! There is a black bar at the top of the screen with the option to change how the blog entries are viewed (default is "Sidebar" which is the word you see). Right next to it is a drop down for "Pages." Mouse-over the Pages menu and...WHOA! There's everything, you say!

Each section of the FAQ/walkthrough is broken down by region: Gnawnia, Whisker Woods, Tribal Isles, etc, so if you're looking for answers on a particular region, just jump straight to that section.

Please note that the FAQ is written to hunters who are more than likely hunting in this area for the first time. I rarely ever make mention of Limited Edition traps and bases in the Walkthrough itself (and when I do, it's only a passing comment), because I know hunters who really need the help don't have those traps, and I know how frustrating it is to seek help and the only thing you hear a veteran player say is "Just use the Partybot and Polar Base." You won't find that kind of analysis here.

I plan on making 2-3 blog entries a week for Mousehunt, as well as expanding the Pages section to provide more analysis on in-game topics. Please give me your constructive feedback!

Oh, and WELCOME TO THE TOTAL MOUSEHUNT FAQ!!! :)

Most FAQ sections are complete!

With the exception of the Valor section, the entire in-game walkthrough is completed, though some of the areas like Tribal Isles, Rodentia and Sandtail Desert don't have many graphics posted; I will do this later tonight once I have better access to software.

Feedback is always welcome, just take a number with the mouse below and I'll get right with you. :)

Jeremiah Macaulay, a member of the Mousehunt Century Club, does a great job of re-capping the Feedback Friday events from the Developers. You can read his re-cap HERE or simply watch the video!

Trap Analysis is completed!

While the meat of the FAQ still resides in a Word file (and will stay there until I can format and edit it!), the main portions of the trap analysis pages are completed. The page on the Bases, Arcane and Misc traps will be completed tomorrow.

Here are your quick links. You can also navigate to your destination from the drop down at the top of the page.

Welcome to the Unofficial Mousehunt FAQ and Guide!

Mousehunt is a popular
Facebook game developed
by Hitgrab, Inc.

Three years ago I was simply trying to pass the time while my wife and I were sitting in the hospital after the birth of our daughter, twiddling our thumbs, wanting to go home. I had just joined Facebook a few months earlier, and having been bored with the various mob and farming games, I was looking for a new game.

And thus my addiction to Mousehunt was born.

Like many people who started, I instantly gravitated to various online guides, and while some were helpful, it seemed that the guides were written for people who were currently at the same stage of the game and had hunting equipment that was unavailable to newer players. One guide in particular caught my eye with its continual instance on telling new hunters "the Polar Base and Party Bot is your best setup here."

Frustrated, I stumbled through the early parts of the game, but I did have a mentor, Misty Gangloff, who was very kind and showed me the ropes. I took that to heart and vowed to help hunters as well once I knew what I was doing.

I began writing my FAQ in late 2009, and it has been a steady work in progress, though I am happy to say I am finally publishing it online. One of my co-workers and good friends, Jason Petite, will contribute to the blog as well, as we discuss updates to the game going forward.

So whether you're a new player or just discovering our site, feel free to look around and let us know what you think. We're only here to help you catch mice!
